Living in the Winter Garden Village Area

The Winter Garden Village area makes up the Central Winter Garden area and was the first area developed outside of the original Downtown Winter Garden area north of the Turnpike. The area name is given as the Winter Garden Village outdoor shopping mall is the central hub for this area.  South of this area is where you will find the new Horizon West area which runs from the Winter Garden Village area South down to Disney World.

Comprising over 50 neighborhoods most residential development of this area started in the 80's and exploded in the late 200's with the expansion of the 429 expressway and construction of the Winter Garden Village mall.

Some homes remaining in the few rural or lakefront lots date back to the 1950s.  However, you are most likely to find suburban style planned neighborhoods from the 1990's onward in the Winter Garden Village area of Winter Garden. 

Where is the Winter Garden Village Area in Winter Garden?

The Winter Garden  Village area is South of the original Winter Garden Town.  It is South of the Florida Turnpike and the Downtown Winter Garden area, West of the Windermere community, East of the Clermont community, and North of the Horizon West area of Winter Garden.

This area was once all citrus groves but a few bad years of freezes wiped out much of the citrus industry in Winter Garden. When the 429 Expressway was built to create a loop around Orlando, it opened the area for development.

The Florida Turnpike runs East-West along the Northern border of the area and the 429 Expressway runs diagonally Northeast to Southwest through the center of the Winter Garden Village area.  Daniels Road merges with Winter Garden Vineland Road at the mall and run North-South on the Eastern side while Avalon Road Runs North-South on its Western side.  Marsh Road which becomes Stoneybrook West Parkway runs East-West through the center of the area.
